The Q Shack Charlotte is a locally-owned barbecue restaurant located in The Promenade on Providence in Charlotte, NC. Owned by Dan & Debra Shane, we prepare delicious, pit-smoked BBQ and fresh, house-made sides daily. We smoke all of our meats low and slow, in our in-house smoker until they’re tender, juicy, and just right. We love serving the Charlotte area in our restaurant and at events large and small. LINE STAFF/CASHIERS (PT)
Our part-time staff are integral to our operations at The Q Shack. Responsibilities include a wide range of duties from dishwashing, assisting in food preparation, cashier, and working the line (preparing customer orders). We are looking to hire 4-5 new part time employees to work on a rotating schedule. Availability on evenings and weekends is a must.
Ideal candidates will be available at least three shifts per week. No prior restaurant experience is required, just a good attitude and willingness to work.
SHIFT LEAD / MEAT CARVERS
We are seeking experienced, goal-oriented shift leader/meat cutters with excellent knife skills to grow with us. We are looking for leaders to fill our daytime, evening and weekend shifts (or a combination). The successful candidates will great customers, help them with orders, cut the meats and supervise the food line and restaurant. Prior experience in a BBQ and/or fast-casual restaurant and leadership experience preferred, as well as availability for 20+ hours per week (including weekends).
This role works directly with customers, our cashiers and customer service team members to ensure that customer orders are filled accurately, and the customer receives the best possible barbeque experience.
Communicates clearly with customers/staff to ensure accuracy of BBQ orders
Utilizes safe and efficient knife skills to cut/package smoked meats to order
Uses restaurant equipment to accurately weigh meats to exact specifications
Addresses customer questions/ inquiries – Knows the menu!
Assist customers with decision making by recommending products to try based on customer input
Ensures guest satisfaction through customer service and hospitality
Maintains a safe and clean working environment – Is ServeSafe Certified or is willing to become Certified
Understands the workings of a restaurant and has the leadership skills to direct shift staff
